Central to IB-TAP was the co-development, co-planning, and co-teaching of IB-focused arts-integrated units. By combining elements of CAPE’s creative cycle with IB design cycle concepts, teaching artists and classroom teachers worked over three years to shape units guided by inquiry, informed by process, explored through creation and making, and reflected upon through evaluation and assessment.
The units linked below for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades served as a Teacher Arts Integrated-Developmental Workbook (Teacher AI-DW), a digital portfolio for teachers and artists to document and reflect upon the experience of their units in the classroom. The curriculum represents the interweaving of visual arts, theatre, dance, video, photography, architecture, and music with the subject areas of Math, Science, Technology, Humanities, Language Arts, Spanish, and French.
